Mitchell H. Kirkwood is an artist and designer working out of Kansas City, Missouri. As a recovering addict his work examines the distortion of memory over time through objects and furniture.

One Legs The Same is an homage to Mitchell’s late grandfather, Col. John H. Kirkwood, whose favorite riddle was from Lewis Carrol’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” - “Why is a raven like a writing desk?” to which John would answer “One legs the same!” and laugh heartily each and every time. Nobody ever understood this, regardless, he found joy in it.

All objects by One Legs The Same are made in the workshop in Kansas City with locally sourced materials.

locally made, is itself an act of rebellion against late stage capitalism.” - instagram user
